Mary DeFeudis Named Chairwoman of Sharks Charities

WORCESTER - Worcester Sharks President and CEO Michael T. Lehr has announced that the Sharks Organization has named Mary DeFeudis as Chairwoman of Sharks Charities.
Ms. DeFeudis is dedicated to revitalizing the City of Worcester. In conjunction with Sharks Charities, Ms. DeFeudis’ philanthropic endeavors will enable the Sharks to become one of the most involved organizations in the Central Massachusetts region.
Ms. DeFeudis, a Worcester native, is an active and enthusiastic investor, philanthropist, and volunteer in and around Worcester. She has focused her interests in organizations which benefit children, cancer research, and bettering the Worcester Community.
“On behalf of the entire Worcester Sharks organization, we could not be more pleased to have Mary DeFeudis on our team,” said Lehr. “She personifies many of the qualities the Sharks strive represent. She can help us reach our No. 1 goal of becoming the best franchise in the American Hockey League both on and off the ice.”
Ms. DeFeudis will be honored at the Sharks home game with a ceremonial puck drop on Saturday, March 24 against the Providence Bruins.
Saturday night is Guns N’ Hoses night and prior to the Sharks game at 7:00 p.m., the Worcester Fire Department will take on the Worcester Police Department will at 4:45 p.m. on the DCU Center ice. The concourse doors will open at 4:30 and the Sharks have offered to make a generous donation of $2 for every group ticket, tickets sold at the door, and $1 of every Mystery puck sold during the game to the City of Worcester’s Save Our Summer campaign. Save Our Summer is a campaign to keep Worcester’s public pools open through the summer. Tickets will give fans the opportunity to see both games.
