Sharks Take Bite Out of Hunger for Thanksgiving

On Tuesday, the Sharks joined Sheriff Guy Glodis and his staff to present canned goods that were raised at Friday night’s game against the Bridgeport Sound Tigers. The food was donated to Centro Las Americas and the Worcester Boys and Girls Clubs and will benefit hundreds of families in the Worcester County Area over this holiday weekend.

Community Relations Manager Michael Myers was on hand at the brand-new Boys and Girls Club on Tainter St. in Worcester to help deliver the canned-food to Centro Las Americas and the Boys and Girls Club. Players Glenn Olson and Brad Staubitz were also present to give a helping hand.

Myers had this to say about the Worcester County Sheriff’s canned food drive, “The Worcester Sharks were excited to partner with the Sheriff’s department to be able to help out two great organizations in Centro Las Americas and the Worcester Boys and Girls Club. They both do a tremendous job providing meals for families in need throughout Worcester County. It was our pleasure to be able to be a part of it and we look forward to working with them in the future.”

Three-time World Champion Boxer Jose Rivera attended the Sharks game on Friday to help out as well. Rivera was well received by Sharks fans as he scored a goal on the ice prior to the game and signed autographs during the second intermission.

Happy Thanksgiving from the Worcester Sharks!!!

The Worcester Sharks organization would like to wish all of their fans and partners a Happy Thanksgiving.  May this be a wonderful start to the upcoming holiday season.  The Sharks are thankful for your support and hope to see you all back at the DCU Center on Friday night to take on the Springfield Falcons.
