By Jamie Smock

HARTFORD, CT - Dimitri Patzold turned aside 43 shots-on-goal and Mathieu Darche scored twice for the Sharks leading to a 5-4 win over the Hartford Wolf Pack on Wednesday night. The win by Worcester was their eighth of the year and snapped a four game winless stretch.

Three consecutive goals by the Sharks in the game's opening 15:02 chased Al Montoya from the Hartford goal and led to a 3-1 lead after twenty minutes of play. Tom Cavanagh’s rebound tally while skating short-handed, his second score of the year and the team’s third short-handed score of the season, at the 9:41 mark got the ball rolling for the Sharks. Riley Armstrong and Mathieu Darche each scored on deflection goals for the 3-0 advantage. Armstrong’s goal came while the Sharks were skating on a US ARMY power play. Jarkko Immonen got Hartford on the board, while skating with a two-man advantage, at the 17:21 mark to trim the Sharks lead to 3-1.

The team’s exchanged power play goals in the second period with Mathieu Darche scoring his second of the night and league leading 18th of the year for the Sharks. Ryan Callahan scored his first of three power play goals for the Wolf Pack.

Mike Iggulden’s second game-winning goal of the season with just 1:32 remaining in the game snapped a four-game winless stretch for the Sharks in a 5-4 win. The goal for the Sharks was sandwiched by power play goals from Callahan, his 11th and 12th of the year. Dimitri Patzold earned the victory in goal for the Sharks with a 43-save performance, including 17 stops in the third period.
