Checking in with.... John McCarthy Round 2

Sharks Fans, will be checking in with Worcester Sharks players throughout the offseason! Our first victim, is rookie John McCarthy! John checks in with us again, this time from Boston!

Hey Sharks fans this is John McCarthy checking in from Boston as I am now officially in the offseason. I spent the last two weeks out in San Jose for their playoff run that unfortunately ended in the Western Conference Finals. It was definitely a good experience for me as I got to see firsthand what it is like to make a playoff run at the NHL level. After the game 4 loss to Chicago, all 8 black aces had a short meeting with the General Manager of the Sharks Doug Wilson and then we were on the redeye flight that night. It was a good and exciting time but it was nice to be home as well.
As far as the summer goes I will take a couple of weeks off from everything as I try to let my body recover from a long season of hockey. I plan on heading up to New Hampshire for Memorial Day Weekend with my friends that I grew up with for a concert. It will be nice to catch up with those guys for a weekend. Later in June I am going to Aruba with my girlfriend, which I am also very much looking forward to.
I am living in Boston over the summer with one of the guys that I grew up with who recently found a job in the city. Once I begin working out I will go Monday-Friday for a couple of hours a day up at Mike Boyle's gym in Winchester, MA. I have trained with him since I was 14 years old and he has helped me tremendously. As the summer goes on I will begin skating a little bit and increase my time on the ice as we get later in the summer and closer to training camp.
That's all for now and I hope that everybody has a great summer.
