SAN JOSE SHARKS REASSIGN FORWARDS BENN FERRIERO AND LOGAN COUTURE TO WORCESTER
SAN JOSE – San Jose Sharks Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Wilson announced today that the club has reassigned forwards Benn Ferriero and Logan Couture to the Worcester Sharks, the team’s top development affiliate in the American Hockey League.
Ferriero has played in 17 games with San Jose this season, posting two goals and two assists.
The five-foot ten, 185-pound native of Boston, Massachusetts was signed by San Jose as a free agent on Sept. 1, 2009.
Couture, 20, made his NHL debut on Oct. 25 at Philadelphia. He picked up his first NHL point on Nov. 1 at Carolina, assisting on Brad Staubitz’s game-winning goal and scored his first NHL goal on Nov. 5 at Detroit. In seven games with San Jose, he has posted two points and two penalty minutes.
Playing in his first full season as a professional, Couture has posted 10 points (four goals, six assists) in 13 games for Worcester, placing him among the League Leaders for rookies.
The six-foot-one, 195-pound native of London, Ontario native was originally selected by San Jose in the first round (9th overall) of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.
