SJ Sharks recall Couture and McGinn

SAN JOSE SHARKS RECALL LEFT WING JAMIE McGINN AND CENTER LOGAN COUTURE FROM WORCESTER

            SAN JOSE – San Jose Sharks Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Wilson announced today that the club has recalled left wing Jamie McGinn and center Logan Couture from the Worcester Sharks, the team’s top development affiliate in the American Hockey League.
 
            McGinn has played in five games with San Jose this season, posting six penalty minutes. With Worcester, he has posted five points (3-2=5) and a +5 plus/minus rating in four games. McGinn figured in on the game-winning goal (1-1=2) in each of the last two games for Worcester, both coming in overtime.
 
The six-foot, 185-pound native of Fergus, Ontario native was originally selected by San Jose in the second round (36th overall) of the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.
 
            Couture, 20, playing in his first full season as a professional, is tied for first among AHL rookies with 10 points (4-6=10), which is tied for sixth overall in the league. He has a five-game point streak intact and has scored three game-winning goals on the season, including an overtime tally last night vs. Springfield.
 
The six-foot-one, 195-pound native of London, Ontario native was originally selected by San Jose in the first round (9th overall) of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.
