WORCESTER SHARKS RE-SIGN FORWARD DAN DaSILVA
 
 
          WORCESTER- Worcester Sharks General Manager Wayne Thomas announced today that the team has re-signed forward Dan DaSilva to a one-year American Hockey League contract. In keeping with club policy, financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
 
            DaSilva, 24, played 26 games with Worcester last season recording 13 points (6 goals, 7 assists) along with 27 penalty minutes. He also added 21 points (9 goals, 12 assists) along with 40 penalty minutes in 36 games with the Phoenix RoadRunners last season.
 
            The six-foot-one, 195-pound right wing had a terrific post season campaign as the Sharks reached the division finals. DaSilva ranked 2nd in post season scoring with 10 points (3 goals, 7 assists) with the Sharks.
 
“Dan was a huge part of the Worcester Sharks during the stretch run and during the playoffs on both sides of the redline,” said Thomas. “We look forward to him to continue his growth as a player with the Worcester Sharks.”
 
            He has appeared in 148 career American Hockey League Games posting 60 points (29 goals, 31 assists) and 137 penalty minutes.
           
            The Saskatoon, SASK native was originally signed by Worcester as a free agent on Oct 24, 2008.
 
 
WORCESTER SHARKS RE-SIGN FORWARD ANDREW DESJARDINS
 
            WORCESTER - Worcester Sharks General Manager Wayne Thomas announced today that the team has re-signed forward Andrew Desjardins to a one-year American Hockey League contract. In keeping with club policy, financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
 
            Desjardins, 22, played 74 games with Worcester last season recording 22 points (8 goals, 14 assists) along with 99 penalty minutes. He also added two points (2 goals, 0 assists) along with six penalty minutes in five games with the Phoenix RoadRunners last season.
 
            He was voted as the Sharks “Unsung Hero” for this, his first season in the American Hockey League.
 
            “Andrew was the center piece of a very effective third line for us last season,” said Thomas. “He brought his lunch pail to work every day and was one of the most consistent forwards we had all season.”
            The six-foot, 200-pound native of Lively, Ontario was originally signed by the Worcester Sharks in October of 2008 after a season with the Laredo Bucks in the CHL.
