Worcester Sharks sign defenseman Tim Branham and goaltender Derek MacIntyre
WORCESTER – Worcester Sharks General Manager Wayne Thomas announced today that the club has signed defenseman Tim Branham from the Reading Royals of the ECHL and goaltender Derek MacIntyre from the Danbury Mad Hatters of the EPHL to player tryout agreements.
Branham has played 47 games in the ECHL with the Augusta Lynx and the Reading Royals posting 26 points (2-24-26) and 60 penalty minutes. The 27-year-old from Eagle River, WI was originally drafted by the Vancouver Canucks in 2000 and has played in 264 professional games, including 34 with the Portland Pirates in 2003-04. Tim will wear #10 with the Worcester Sharks
MacIntyre attended the Worcester Sharks training camp before signing with the Danbury Mad Hatters in the EPHL. This, his rookie season, Derek has posted a 21-14-1 record in Danbury with a 3.42GAA and a .900 save percentage. He was originally drafted by San Jose in the 8th round in 2004 after his freshman year at Ferris State University. Derek will wear #35 with the Worcester Sharks.
The Worcester Sharks play three of their four games this week at the DCU Center in Worcester.
On Wednesday, the Sharks host the Binghamton Senators at 7:05 p.m. on “Dollar Dog” Wednesday.
On Friday, the Sharks host the Hartford Wolf Pack at 7:05 p.m. on College Night. The first 1,000 fans 18-years-old and over will receive a Massachusetts lottery scratch ticket. All student tickets are just $9 and the game will also be shown live on Charter TV-3!
On Saturday, the Sharks travel to Manchester for a 7:00 p.m. tilt against the Monarchs.
On Sunday, the Sharks host the Hartford Wolf Pack at 4:05 p.m. as Jennette McCurdy from iCarly will sign autographs presented by Irving Oil!
