With less than 40 days left until the first drop of the puck, sharksahl.com will be here to give you all of the latest Worcester Sharks news.  Until the opening face-off, you can check here each and every Thursday for TWiST: This Week in Sharks Territory, where you’ll find everything you need to be fully prepared for the 2008-09 season.  I’m Mark Hanoian, the Public Relations Intern for the Sharks, and I’ll be sure to provide you with any information you might need. 
 
Dates to Remember:
 
--2008-09 Individual Game Tickets will go on sale on September 15th, at noon.  Packages can be purchased at the DCU Center, or can be purchased by phone by calling (508)929-0500.
 
--Exhibition games will be held across several venues in New England.  The Sharks preseason schedule is as follows: (more info to come)
-October 1st vs. Hartford at Trinity College (7 p.m.)
-October 3rd vs. Springfield at MassMutual Center (7:30 p.m.)
-October 4th vs. Hartford at Loring Arena in Framingham (7 p.m.)
-October 5th vs. Manchester at Wallace Civic Center in Fitchburg (4 p.m.)
 
--Opening night for the Sharks is October 11th at Lowell.  Game time is 7 p.m.
 
--The Sharks home opener is on October 18th against Providence at 7:05 p.m.
 
--Tickets for the 2009 AHL All-Star Classic presented by Charter Communications will go on sale to the public on October 18th as well.
 
Swimming with FINZ…
 
If you’re looking for FINZ this weekend, you can catch him all over Massachusetts this weekend. 
 
On Saturday, FINZ will be at the Johnny Appleseed Festival in Leominster from 10:30-11:30am, and then will swim over to Framingham with the Sharkhead Shootout for the Boys & Girls Club MetroWest Kids Day. 
 
On Sunday, FINZ will join the cast of Good Morning America from 8:45-9:30am at Union Station in Worcester, followed by the Memory Walk at the Worcester Senior Center on Providence Street from 9:45-11:15am.

Alternate Jerseys
 
The Sharks will don an alternate color jersey at select home and away games this year.  The jersey is grey and has “SHARKS” written diagonally across the front of the sweater.  These jerseys will premier on the October 25th home contest against Bridgeport.

Upcoming Promotions
 
The Sharks recently released their promotions schedule for the 2008-09 season.  The Sharks are offering a special BOGO Free ticket offer (Buy One Get One) until October 18th!  Promotional highlights early on include:
 
10/18 – Opening Night – All-Star bobbleheads & magnet schedules courtesy of Charter Communications for first 3,000 fans and a pre-game concert by Joshua Tree!
 
11/15 – Appearance by Jason Earles from Hannah Montana, who plays Hannah’s brother Jackson!

San Jose Camp Announced
 
The San Jose Sharks released this year’s training camp schedule.  All players will begin skating on September 20th.  Be sure to follow your favorite Sharks from Worcester that have moved on to San Jose.
