WORCESTER, MA– Worcester Sharks President and CEO Michael T. Lehr has announced a special “buy one, get one” free, ticket offer through opening night on October 18^th and has released the 2008-09 promotional schedule for the Sharks third season at the DCU Center.

 

Bobbleheads, live entertainment, autographed collector’s cards, poster schedule, post-game skate, specialty jersey auctions, and All-Star festivities will be among the premium promotions available during the Worcester Sharks third season, it was announced on Wednesday.

“The Sharks wanted to make this All-Star season exciting from start to finish with promotions and give-aways that the whole family can enjoy,” said team president and CEO Michael T. Lehr.

 

Adding to the excitement this season is the addition of entertainment acts and celebrity appearances; including the popular U2 cover band Joshua Tree, which will perform on opening night; and a special appearance by Jason Earles from the hit television show “Hannah Montana” on November 15^th.

 

Opening night will be jam packed with giveaways as the first 3,000 fans will receive a FINZ All-Star Bobblehead and a magnet schedule courtesy of Charter Communications. Joshua Tree will perform during the pregame and intermissions.

 

The return of the popular autographed collector’s card series will begin with Derek Joslin on December 20^th. The three card set will also feature Brad Staubitz (February 28^th) and Tom Cavanagh (March 27^th).

 

The Sharks will also unveil a third jersey which will be worn on select dates and will host a jersey auction on February 21^st. The Sharks will also wear a special “Be A Leader” jersey with a post game jersey auction on “Be A Leader” night on March 28^th.

 

The Worcester Sharks will host the opening ceremonies for the Massachusetts Special Olympics for the third straight year on February 27^th.
