For over 30 years Great Clips has been the best value in haircuts and this year the Worcester Sharks have partnered with Great Clips in support of the Locks of Love program.

What is Locks of Love? Locks of Love is a public non-profit organization that provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children in the United States and Canada under age 21 suffering from long-term medical hair loss from any diagnosis. They meet a unique need for children by using donated hair to create the highest quality hair prosthetics. Most of the children helped by Locks of Love have lost their hair due to a medical condition called alopecia areata, which has no known cause or cure. The prostheses they provide help to restore their self-esteem and their confidence, enabling them to face the world and their peers.

The Sharks program commences on October 15, 2011 and will run until the Sharks home game against the Bridgeport Sound Tigers on Sunday, March 18, 2012. During this time two Sharks players have agreed to grow out their hair in support of the program. On March 18, 2012 they will shave their heads at center ice in a show of solidarity to all those generous fans who agree to have their hair cut for Locks of Love.

How can I participate? Anyone who signs up and qualifies via Locks of Love Official Guidelines gets a FREE haircut at Great Clips in Westborough or Marlborough. Simply email [email protected]. Make sure you put "Locks of Love" in the subject line and provide us your name, address, phone number. Must follow these guidelines for hair donation.
