Over 100 guests attended the press conference followed by a concussion symposium hosted by nationally renowned concussion expert Chris Nowinsky.

In addition, it was announced that the entire MidState Junior Sharks youth hockey program has made it mandatory for all youth hockey players (peewee level and above) to receive the ImPACT testing for the 2011-12 season. The ImPACT testing will be provided by Saint Vincent Hospital through the FINZ Fit Kidz program and several youth hockey players received their test at the event held Thursday.

The FINZ Fit Kidz program is a school assembly format throughout the hockey season which includes a leave behind work booklet and includes a free ticket to a Worcester Sharks hockey game compliments of Saint Vincent Hospital.

Dr. Jason Simon and Dr. Todd Malvey spoke on behalf of Saint Vincent Hospital while the president of the MidState Junior Sharks Mike Belhuemer was also in attendance with the president of Massachusetts Hockey Keri-Anne Allan.

The entire Worcester Sharks hockey team mingled with attendees and stayed for the symposium.
