Worcester Sharks Announce 2011-12 Promotional Schedule
Sharks introduce new 20 game pick-a-game plan to satisfy your taste buds

WORCESTER – Worcester Sharks President Michael A. Mudd announced the team's 2011-12 promotional schedule as the Sharks begin their sixth season of hockey at the DCU Center in Worcester.  Three bobblehead giveaways, four high school hockey double headers, numerous returning fan favorite theme nights, and the introduction of new promotions including Pink in the Rink and Pucks & Paws Night highlight the promotional schedule.

The Sharks enter their sixth AHL season by hosting Opening Night on Saturday, October 15th, against Albany at 7:00 p.m. presented by Harvard Pilgrim Health Care with the first 2,500 fans receiving a free t-shirt. In addition, all fans will receive a magnet schedule presented by Charter Communications. One lucky fan will win an all inclusive magical Orlando vacation presented by Steele Hill Resorts.

Three separate bobblehead nights are featured on the promotional schedule. The first 3,000 fans will receive a Lyndon Byers bobblehead compliments of WAAF on December 3rd, a Jose Antonio Riviera bobblehead presented by Bay State Savings Bank on January 21st, and a Logan Couture bobblehead presented by TD Bank on March 10th against the Bruins.

In the first of three planned specialty jerseys nights, the Sharks partner with the 15-40 Connection to “Check Yourself. Beat Cancer” presented by Columbia Tech on January 7th vs. the Bruins. Worcester will host their first “Pink in the Rink” Night to benefit the Cup Crusaders and wear a special pink jersey and skate on pink ice on February 12th. WAAF presents the third and final specialty jersey night to benefit Special Olympics Massachusetts on February 25th with an appearance by The Hill-Man Morning Show.

The Sharks will host four high school double headers this season as Shrewsbury will battle Algonquin on January 7th, Auburn will skate against Wachusett on January 15th, Hudson will play Marlboro on Jan 21st, and St. John’s will face St. Peter Marian on February 12th. In addition, the 2nd annual MSHCA High School All Star Classic will take place on April 1st. One ticket will allow you admission to both the high school and Sharks game.

The entire Sharks hockey team will sign autographs in a postgame autograph session on February 27th on Team Poster Night and the Sharks player autographed card series will make a comeback on December 28th and March 31st.

This season will mark the second edition of two movie poster giveaways presented by WTAG. Sharks players will “star” in movie posters to be given out on November 12th and February 10th.

New for this season, the Sharks are rolling out $2-$2-$2 Fridays. During every Friday night game at the DCU Center, fans may purchase hot dogs, sodas, and popcorn for only $2 each.

Kid’s tickets are just $5 for Sunday afternoon games with the purchase of one adult ticket as part of $5 Kid’s Sundays presented by Southwick’s Zoo. Each child will also receive a free child admission to the Southwick’s Zoo with the purchase of a $5 kid’s ticket. Southwick’s Zoo will also be bringing live animals to select Sunday afternoon games.

The family fun pack will include all weekend date games (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday) and includes four tickets, four hot dogs, and four sodas, for only $74.

The Teddy Bear Toss returns for a third season on November 26th. Fans are encouraged to bring new stuffed animals to throw on the ice in support of local charities.

On March 18th, the Sharks will host Ice Cats Night with a special appearance from Scratch. Prior to the Sharks game, there will be a special on-ice ceremony honoring the 2012 class of the Worcester Hockey Hall of Fame.

The return of fan favorite Saturday Night Signings will include special appearances throughout the season by sports celebrities. Worcester Sharks players will sign autographs during the 2nd intermission during all Saturday home games.

As always, the Sharks will host a “Fan Appreciation Night” during the end of the regular season which includes the annual “Parade of Champions” and several promotions and giveaways on April 15th vs. the Hershey Bears.
