Former Crazed Rat contributing in NHL
Andrew Desjardins contributing in NHL

Andrew Desjardins, John McCarthy and Dan DaSilva have all been major contributors in Worcester, and made up the Worcester Sharks original “Crazed Rats Line”. Last season, John McCarthy was the first of the trio to skate on NHL ice, but Andrew Desjardins has followed suit this year.

Desjardins made his NHL debut on January 3rd this year against the Vancouver Canucks. On March 7th, the former crazed-rat was recalled by San Jose and may not be coming back to Worcester any time soon.

Being called up for the 3rd time this year, Desjardins has made most of his opportunity. On March 23rd, against the Calgary Flames, Desjardins recorded his first NHL goal. Click here to see Desjardins’ first NHL goal, it was a beauty. The San Jose center has been dominating on face-offs as well with a 63.2% success rate when the puck is dropped. The hardnosed center has been tough along the boards as well racking up hit-after-hit each shift.

San Jose currently sits second in the Western Conference, and has already clinched a playoff spot this year. Needless to say, as the weather gets warmer, the games get more and more important. The crazed rat, Desjardins, will look to do his old Sharks fans in Worcester and his new Sharks fans in San Jose proud and battle for the Stanley Cup.
