San Jose Sharks reassign forward Matt Jones to Kalamazoo (ECHL)
SAN JOSE – San Jose Sharks Vice President and Assistant General Manager Wayne Thomas announced that the club has reassigned forward Matt Jones to the Kalamazoo Wings in the ECHL from the Worcester Sharks, the team’s top development affiliate in the American Hockey League.
The 23-year-old played in four games with the Worcester Sharks this season recording seven shots on goal along with two penalty minutes and a -1 rating.
The 6-foot-4, 215-pound Kentwood, Michigan native appeared in 46 games last season in Worcester registering eight points (2-6-8) along with 19 penalty minutes. He also played in two games with Phoenix of the ECHL recording two penalty minutes.
The Sharks travel to Providence on Friday before returning home to host the Springfield Falcons at the DCU Center on Saturday at 7:05 p.m. The first 3,000 fans will receive a super cool Worcester Sharks schedule poster! The Sharks cap the weekend off with a visit to Hartford on Sunday at 3p.m.
