A few minutes later, Hartford would score again after a goal mouth scramble at 15:06 as Derek Couture poked in a loose puck in front past Sharks netminder Ryan Nie for a 2-0 advantage.
With a little less than three minutes remaining in the first period, the Sharks’ Devon LeBlanc fired a 45 foot slap shot from the left side that rang off the post to the right of Harford netminder Ryan Munce.
The Sharks went 0 for 3 on the power play in the first period and trailed 2-0. Shots were 13-13 after twenty minutes.
SECOND PERIOD: (No scoring, Hartford still leads 2-0)
About five minutes into the 2nd period Nie robbed Tomas Zaborky after a great feed from the left corner. Zaborsky fired a backhand shot top shelf from ten feet out and Nie made a great blocker save.
FIGHT!
Michael Wilson fought playoff pest Devin DiDiomete in a toe-to-to battle behind the Sharks net. Wilson fired several shots early before DiDiomete fired some uppercut shots. Give Wilson much credit for that fight. Each received five for fighting at 8:40.
FIGHT 2
Worcester’s Chris Clark threw a wild right hand that knocked down Andrew Carroll at 16:54 behind the Sharks net. A fast and furious fight with Clark taking the advantage.
No scoring in 2nd period with each team having a couple of power play chances.
Sharks trail 2-0 after 40 minutes and are being outshot 26-17.
THIRD PERIOD
Ryan Nie made a terrific stop on Andres Ambuhl at :29 seconds as Hartford was on the power play.
Carter Lee fired a wrist shot from 20 feet and Ryan Munce made a super glove save… bet chance of the night for Worcester.
Hartford took a 3-0 lead at 13:08 as Derek Couture found the back of the net for the 2nd time of the hockey game as he fired the puck from a screen.
Andrew Carroll gave the Wolf Pack a 4-0 lead after he screened Nie as the shot from the right point came to the net. Carroll swept the rebound around Nie and into the net at 17:11. The goal was a shorthanded goal.
GOAL!!!!
