WORCESTER – The Worcester Sharks and Devereux have teamed up for a unique opportunity benefiting a worthy cause. Fans have the opportunities to pledge a certain dollar amount per Sharks goal scored during the nine home games in March, with all the proceeds supporting Devereux. If the pledge is $1 per goal and the Sharks score 30 goals during the nine home games, the final donation will be $30. Flat donations are also accepted.

 

All pledges that are $1 per goal or greater receive two tickets to the April 9 game vs. rival Providence and are automatically entered into a drawing for Sharks gear. Any donation of $50 or more will be entered into a special drawing for an autographed Joe Thornton jersey and will receive two tickets to the April 9 game as well.

 

Devereux is a nonprofit organization that provides special education and treatment for children and adolescents with severe emotional and behavioral needs.  Care, given to children ages 0-21, includes: campus-based residential treatment, special needs day school, substance abuse treatment, community group homes, and Therapeutic Foster Care. The Sharks look to get back on track on Wednesday when they host the Springfield Falcons for the second consecutive game. Worcester remains home on Friday when they host the Manchester Monarchs at 8:05 p.m., with the Special Olympics opening ceremonies preceding the Atlantic Division clash. After a Saturday road game at Albany, Worcester is home once again on Sunday when it hosts the Norfolk Admirals in a rematch of the two teams that were involved in a Feb. 15 brawl.
