San Jose Reassigns Forwards Mathieu Darche and Tomas Plihal to Worcester

SAN JOSE — San Jose Sharks Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Wilson announced today that the club has reassigned forwards Mathieu Darche and Tomas Plihal to the Worcester Sharks.

Darche played in two games for the Sharks, posting three shots, no points or penalty minutes and an even rating.

Plihal has played in three games for San Jose this season, posting 10 shots, no points or penalty minutes and an even rating.

Worcester’s lone representative in the 2007 AHL All-Star Classic in Toronto, Darche has played in 51 games for Worcester this season and has compiled 53 points (25 goals, 28 assists) with a plus-four player rating. His 53 points have him tied for 12th in the AHL in scoring. The Montreal native was signed as a free agent by the San Jose Sharks on July 10, 2006.

In 41 games with Worcester this season, Plihal has posted 13 points (six goals, seven assists) with 28 penalty minutes. The six-foot-one, 195-pound native of Frydlant, Czech Republic was selected by San Jose in the fifth round (140th overall) of the 2001 NHL Entry Draft.
