“T.J. is a proven goal scorer in the American Hockey League,” said Wayne Thomas. “He is an exciting player that will be a welcomed addition to our club for next season.”
Trevelyan started his career playing junior hockey with the Georgetown Raiders of the OPJHL. During 2001-02, he led the team in goals, assists, and points (37-39-76) to become the team’s 12th overall scoring leader with 55 goal and 116 points in a mere two seasons, as well as the season’s MVP.
The Mississauga, Ontario native then moved on to collegiate hockey at St. Lawrence University recording 154 points (78 goals, 76 assists) and 204 penalty minutes in 150 games. He led the team in goals during his sophomore, junior, and senior years, as well as in points his junior and senior years. Trevelyan majored in history and became the third all-time leading goal-scorer in St. Lawrence history.
Did you know?:He was theCo-Most Valuable Player at St. Lawrence for the 2005-2006 season, ECAC Player of the Year, National First Team All-American, and was one of the top ten finalists for the Hobey Baker Award.
Upon graduating in 2006, Trevelyan began his professional career with the Long Beach Ice Dogs (ECHL) where he led the team in scoring. He scored his first professional point (assist) on 10/27/06 vs. Stockton and tallied his first career goal the following night, also against Stockton.
Interesting fact: Trevelyan had an 11-game ECHL point-streak from 10/27/06 to 11/18/06.
During the 2006-07 season, T.J. was recalled to the Providence Bruins (AHL), where he remained for the rest of the season. His first career AHL goal was scored on 12/2 at Springfield. He was Providence’s top scorer in February with six goals and six assists. With the Providence Bruins, Trevelyan finished out the season third on the team in scoring and was tied with Matt Lashoff for a team-best nine power-play goals.
The following 2007-08 season, Trevelyan skated in 72 games for the Providence Bruins, scoring 38 points (18g, 20a). He had six multi-point games and four game-winning goals during the season. He excelled in the 2008 Calder Cup Playoffs when he scored a point in six straight playoff games and was 3rd on the team in scoring during the post-season with eight points in ten playoff games.

Trevelyan, 25, played 76 games with the Iowa Chops during this past 2008-09 season, recording 47 points (23 goals, 24 assists) along with 18 penalty minutes, continuing his history as the team’s goal and point leader.
The five-foot-nine, 179-pound left wing has appeared in 208 career American Hockey League games with the Providence Bruins and the Iowa Chops posting 138 points (69 goals, 69 assists) and 82 penalty minutes.
