Worcester Sharks Youth Hockey All Star Shootout Competition presented by Piccadilly Pub Restaurant
Over 100 kids ranging in age from 6-12 years old in three different divisions participated in this year’s All Star Shootout competition. The top two scorers and top goalie advanced to the Shootout Finals during the first intermission of the AHL All Star Game on Monday January 26, 2009.
The game was witnessed by a capacity crowd of 7,245 fans at the DCU Center as well as national television audiences in Canada on TSN and in the United States on a series of regional networks.
Officiating the shootout was referee Paul Stewart. A former player and referee both in the American Hockey League and the National Hockey League. Paul is the first American to referee over 1000 games in the NHL.
