Rewind the Tape:
1.23.09 – Worcester 4 – Springfield 3 OT – MassMutual Center
Corey Larose tied the game at 3-3 with just :41 seconds remaining with the goaltender pulled and Ryan Vesce recorded his 4th overtime goal of the season just :20 seconds into the extra frame as the Sharks defeated the Falcons 4-3 in Springfield. Patrick Traverse had three points (1-2-3) and Corey Larose had two points in his first game action since December 26th. Thomas Greiss made 22 saves in net for his 15th win of the season. The game was a physical one, as the two teams were each whistled for 10 penalties. The Sharks scored two power play goals for the 3rd straight game.

1.24.09 Worcester 4 – Lowell 6 – Tsongas Arena
Matt Fornataro gave the Sharks an early lead with his 5th of the season, but the Sharks would allow three straight tallies after and could never catch up to the Devils in Lowell. Patrick Traverse has a goal and an assist and Ryan Vesce pushed his point streak to 13 games with a first period assist. Cory Larose and Jamie McGinn recorded the other goals for the Sharks while Devils’ captain Rod Pelley notched a hat trick and Barry Tallackson recorded three assists for Lowell. Worcester outshot the Devils 42-36 but Jeff Frazee was solid in net for the Devils.

Sharks in the Atlantic…
The Sharks (24-19-0-2) swim in 4th place in the Atlantic Division with 50 points, three points behind the first place Providence Bruins. Worcester stands one point behind the Portland Pirates and Hartford Wolf Pack, who are tied for 2nd. Just five points separate 1st place (Providence) and 5th place (Lowell) in a very choppy Atlantic Division.
