The Worcester Sharks bring Reading is Cool right into your school or classroom!
When can I bring the program to my school?
The program is available throughout the 2014-15 school year and we will work with you to pick out the best day to bring Reading is Cool to you! Just contact Community Development Coordinator Joey Goldstein at least 2 weeks before you would like the Sharks to visit your school. How does Reading is Cool work?
After a school signs up, the Worcester Sharks will bring a special guest and FINZ into your classroom for an hour of fun! During this time the a Worcester Sharks player or staff member will read to the students and have an interactive discussion about the importance of reading! Each student will also receive some fun prizes and a Worcester Sharks reading log. After completing the log, students can mail it to the Sharks front office to receive a free ticket to the Sharks game on December 14th or April 12th!
Any additional logs completed and mailed to the Sharks office gives students a chance to win a Worcester Sharks Experience Pack which includes 4 tickets, a tour of the Sharks locker room and the chance to watch warm ups from the bench.
The top overall reader for the season will win the opportunity to take part in the ceremonial puck drop prior to the Sharks game on Sunday April 12th at 3:00 while the top overall class for the season will win a pizza party with FINZ at your school!
