Raduns Finds Scoring Touch in
Worcester
By: Corey Mills
Worcester Sharks rookie forward Nate Raduns has scored at least one goal in each of his first four games in the young season, including a two-goal effort on Sunday against the Providence Bruins. The 6-3, 205 pound Minnesota native was signed by the Sharks this past off season following a four year career with
Saint Cloud
State
University . During his 143 games with the Huskies, Raduns scored just 19 goals with a season high of 6 (posted his senior year) but has certainly discovered the scoring touch since arriving in
Worcester .
Nate was born and raised in Sauk Rapids,
Minnesota , where most of his hockey skills were perfected. The forward’s most notable accomplishment came in 2002 with the U-18 Junior National team, when Raduns and his team captured a World Championship with a win over Russia.
Success found Raduns outside the rink and in the classroom. Three times he was an Academic All-WCHA award winner. In 2005 he was the Huskies’ Brendan J. and Vernie McDonald President's Award Recipient, and in his senior season the economics major was selected to the 2007 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District V University Division men's at-large team.
Through the opening four games, Raduns has already accumulated six points on five goals and one assist. Although Raduns has never been an offensive powerhouse,
Worcester hockey fans are witnessing an offensive frenzy which could spark the Sharks toward a run at their first Atlantic Division title. To be a part of the action, call the Sharks offices at 508-929-0500 or get your tickets online at the new and improved sharksahl.com.
