Summer Events in Full Throttle for FINZ

Hi Sharks Fans!

Well, summer is officially in full swing and we have been getting out and about all over Central Massachusetts.alt

This past weekend, the Shark Head Shootout made it’s debut at the Unibank Community Appreciation Day in Whitinsville, MA. Defenseman, Dan Spang joined us for the event, helping the kids with their shooting and signing autographs. His shoulder looks to be on the mend and he seems eager to get back on the ice. Ticket staff members, Ryan Clark and recent hire, Tim Wegner stepped up and covered the goaltending duties. The scouting report for young Wegner is that he is ALL glove. Thanks again to everyone at Unibank for hosting us at what is sure to become a yearly event.

On Sunday I started off at the Walk and Rock Event at Lake Park in Worcester to benefit the Jimmy Fund. The weather wasn’t quite cooperating, but the participants didn’t seem to notice and the event was a great success. Shortly after, I headed off to Fitton Field to join the Tornadoes in celebrating my buddy Twister’s Birthday. We had a great time running the bases and checking in with a whole lot of Sharks fans. I also got a chance to meet my new intern, Meredith at the game. Many of you will get a chance to meet her at my weekend appearances…make sure to welcome her to the Sharks family when you see her.

altOn Tuesday, we headed back down Rt. 146 to the Sutton Senior Center. We joined students from Sutton Elementary School and their Pen Pals from the senior center for a lunch celebration. Special thanks to director, Michelle Edelstein for having us crash the party. Check out the pictures of me driving the bus!!

This week I’ll be heading to the Relay for Life at Quinsigamond Community College on Friday and the Worcester Firefighters Memorial Road Race at Institute Park in Worcester on Sunday…Check out the Community Events calendar for details on upcoming events!
