Sharks at Sound Tigers at 11am on Thursday
The Worcester Sharks will try to break out of their five game slide (0-4-1-0) with the back end of a home-and-home series at the Bridgeport Sound Tigers on Thursday at 11am for a special School Day Game start.
The only way to catch the game live is by watching the game at www.AHLLive.com for a small fee. The game will air on WTAG on tape delay beginning at 7pm.
Worcester is 3-1-0-0 vs. Bridgeport this season and is in the middle of facing the Sound Tigers three times over eight days.
The Sharks fell at home to the Sound Tigers by the count of 4-2 on Tuesday evening in front of 1,777 fans at the DCU Center. With the loss, the Sharks remain seven points behind the 8th place Hershey Bears in the Eastern Conference playoff picture with one game in hand and 10 games remaining.
Alex Stalock made his first start with Worcester in over a month after he was loaned back from San Jose yesterday and made 31 saves in the loss. Boston University alum Matt Nieto made his professional debut for the Sharks and recorded an assist as Worcester matched a season high 5th straight loss (0-4-1-0). The Sharks led 2-0 early in the first period after goals by Daniil Tarasov and Freddie Hamilton but the Sound Tigers scored four unanswered goals.
Defenseman Dylan Demelo and forward Chris Crane are both eligible to play for the Sharks on Thursday morning. Demelo just wrapped up a terrific season with the Mississauga Steelheads (OHL) where he recorded 50 points (15-35-50) in 64 games. Dylan played four games with Worcester at the end of last season. Crane turned pro after his junior season with Ohio State and signed with the San Jose Sharks. Chris had nine points (6-3-9) in 38 games this year for OSU.
