Sharks stay active in the Community this week!
On Wednesday, the Reading is Cool program makes a visit to the Elm Park Community School in Worcester from 1-2pm. Worcester Sharks rookie forward Dean Strong and FINZ will read to the entire 2nd grade.
On Thursday, the Be A Leader program pays a visit to the Forest Grove Middle School in Worcester from 1:30-2:30pm. Mike Moore, a Princeton graduate, will be joined by a teammate and address the students and share their insights on being a professional hockey player and how to make healthy lifestyle choices.
Created at the start of the 2007-08 season by the Worcester Sharks and the Law Firm of Abigail Williams and Associates, the “Be a Leader” program is designed to provide students in grades 4-6 with leadership tips to enrich their lives as well as others around them.
On Thursday afternoon, Finz will drop off a boat-load of hat and mittens to Community Healthlink of Worcester from 4-5pm. The hat and mittens were collected on November 22nd in part of the Hat and Mittens Holiday Skate presented by BayState Savings Bank.
On Friday night, it’s the 2nd annual “Give Moore for the Holidays.” Mike Moore and his teammates have invited families from the Community Healthlink of Worcester to enjoy the Sharks game and then receive holiday gifts from the players in a post game reception. Last season, the team purchased over $3,000 worth of toys for children from the Community Healthlink of Worcester.
