Nick Petrecki and Mike Moore take lead in Be a Leader program
The “Be a Leader” program presented by the Law Firm of Abigail Williams and Associates returned to the Elm Park Elementary School in Worcester, MA on Thursday, December 10 and met with over 100 students.
Created at the start of the 2007-08 season by the Worcester Sharks and the Law Firm of Abigail Williams and Associates, the “Be a Leader” program is designed to provide students in grades 4-6 with leadership tips to enrich their lives as well as others around them. Sharks defensemen Mike Moore and Nick Petrecki, Finz, and Michael Myers took the lead at the assembly on Thursday.
Moore, a Princeton graduate who began his career with the Sharks last season, and Petrecki, a rookie and former first round draft choice, addressed the students and shared their insights on being a professional hockey player and how to make healthy lifestyle choices.
Back in early November, the Sharks, the office of the Law Firm of Abigail Williams and Associates, and Consigli Construction, rolled up their sleeves and revamped the exterior and interior and of the Elm Park Community School in Worcester as part of the BAL Community Service Day. The reconfiguration of the main entrance, painting of basketball court, construction of new benches, and refurbishing the outdoor walkway, were just some of the projects completed.
Each participant in the program received a free ticket to an upcoming 2009-10 regular season Sharks home game, and a Sharks poster compliments of the Law Firm of Abigail Williams and Associates.
