August 12, 2009
As part of the summer series on SharksAHL.com, we will be checking with Sharks players to see what they have been up to this offseason! Sharks players will be writing to SharksAHL.com and keep us all up to date with their happenings! This week, Worcester Sharks leading point scorer and captain Ryan Vesce checks in from Long Island!
Hello Fans!
I have had a very eventful summer to say the least. After the season ended in Worcester, I shot down to beautiful SW Florida to finalize some details for my wedding. My wife Kate and I met at Cornell University and decided that we would like to get married in Florida where both of our parents have vacation homes. We had an unbelievable wedding thanks to an amazing band and a crowd that likes to party. After the wedding we went to St. Lucia for our honeymoon. We did a ton of activities including jungle biking, snorkeling and sightseeing.
I returned back to Long Island after the honeymoon and started my training. We have a lifting group that works at Bluestreak Training Center. Our on ice and running is led by Russian trainer Aleksey Nikiforov. He is the complete package when it comes to training. The players from Long Island are very fortunate to have someone of his caliber right in their own back yard.
I am very excited about playing another year in the Sharks Organization. I look forward to the challenges of the upcoming season.
Enjoy the rest of your summer and get ready for a great season of hockey!
