Marina Riva captures Division One Adult Novice League in Auburn!
Worcester Sharks ticket account executive and youth hockey extraordinaire, Marina Riva, captured the Championship for the Division One Adult Novice League in Auburn on Wednesday night in front of a near capacity crowd at Lake Ave in Worcester.
Riva played great two-way hockey and blocked several shots to lead the Capitals to a 2-0 win over the Flyers on Wednesday night. Worcester Sharks friend and supporter Ed Kochling scored the game winning goal with a wicked slap shot front the right circle in the victory.
“The fan support was unbelievable tonight. It was like playing with a 6th skater on the ice, said Riva. “I would like to thank my teammates for a terrific season and hope they all buy a 10 game flex pack with the Sharks!”
Marina recorded 114 points (57 goals, 57assists) in four years at the University of Rhode Island and was the leading scorer her freshman year. Riva was part of the 2003-04 club that lost in the national championship game to Wisconsin. (Marina swears she hit the post ten times that game).
Marina currently works in the Worcester Sharks ticket department handling youth hockey groups. If your youth hockey group wants to come out and enjoy a Sharks game and have the chance to skate on the DCU Center ice, please call the “Division One Adult Novice League Champion,” Marina Riva at 508.929.0500!
Go Marina!!!!!
