Worcester Sharks host 2nd annual High School Hockey Classic presented by Commerce Bank
St. John’s and St. Peter Marian to battle before Sharks game this Saturday
WORCESTER - Worcester Sharks President and CEO Michael T. Lehr announced today that the Worcester Sharks will be hosting the 2nd Annual High School Hockey Classic presented by Commerce Bank between the St. John’s Pioneers and the St. Peter-Marian Guardians at 4p.m. before the Worcester Sharks battle the San Antonio Rampage on Saturday, January 30 at the DCU Center.
The two high school hockey power houses will face-off at 4p.m. on the DCU Center Ice before the Sharks host the Rampage at 7:05p.m. Tickets are just $10.50 when purchased in advance by contacting the Worcester Sharks Front Office at 508.929.0500 or crashing the net at www.sharksahl.com. SpongBob SquarePants will make also make a special appearance courtesy of Charter Communications! Tickets will gain you admission into both games on Saturday, February 2nd. Doors will open at 3:30 p.m. for the hockey doubleheader.
“We are extremely excited about playing one of our biggest rivals on the DCU Center Ice,” said Brian Allain, the Head Coach of the St. Peter-Marian Guardians. “We would like to thank the Worcester Sharks for this great opportunity.”
“We will be pumped up and ready to play,” said Brian Murphy, the Head Coach of the St. John’s Pioneers. “The Pioneers are expecting a large turnout for this game again this year. It should be a lot of fun.”
“The Worcester Sharks are proud to showcase two of the elite schools in the Massachusetts area,” said Lehr. “The 2nd Annual High School Hockey Classic will have all the bells and whistles of a regular Sharks game. We had a large turnout for the game last year and expect even more to watch these two rivals go at it at the DCU Center.”
The 2nd Annual High School Classic presented by Commerce Bank will air live on News Talk 580AM and 94.9FM WTAG with the voice of the Worcester Sharks Eric Lindquist with the call along with MIAA Tournament Director Peter Glanville providing color commentary.

The Worcester Sharks host two games this weekend before hitting the road for seven straight games. On Friday, the Sharks host the Springfield Falcons presented by Enterprise Cleaning Corporation at 7:05 p.m. on College Night. All student tickets are just $9. The game will be shown live on Charter TV-3.
On Saturday, the Shark host the San Antonio Rampage at 7:05 p.m. Before the game, St. John’s and St. Peter Marian will battle in the 2nd Annual High School Hockey Classic presented by Commerce Bank. The junior varsity game begins at 2:15 p.m. and the varsity game to start at 4p.m. Last year, the St. John’s Pioneers defeated the St. Peter-Marian Guardians 3-1.
