San Jose Sharks Reassign Greiss, Worcester Releases Coleman

SAN JOSE SHARKS REASSIGN GOALTENDER THOMAS GRIESS TO WORCESTER
SAN JOSE – San Jose Sharks Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Wilson announced today that the club has reassigned goaltender Thomas Greiss (GRYCE) to the Worcester Sharks, San Jose’s top development affiliate in the American Hockey League.
Greiss has a 4-5-0 record with Worcester this season, posting a 3.22 goals-against average and an .860 save percentage.
He did not appear in any games with San Jose.
WORCESTER SHARKS RELEASE GOALTENDER GERALD COLEMAN FROM PTO
WORCESTER - Worcester Sharks General Manager Wayne Thomas announced today that the club has signed released goaltender Gerald Coleman from his PTO (player tryout agreement) and is scheduled to report back to Phoenix in the ECHL.
The 23-year-old Coleman played in three games for the Worcester Sharks recording a 0-2-0 record with a 3.23gaa and a .860 save percentage. Coleman began the year in Phoenix (ECHL) appearing in five games recording a 2-1-1 record with a 1.48gaa and a .950 save percentage.
The 6-foot-5, 215-pound Romeoville, Illinois native split last season with Portland (AHL) and August (ECHL) compiling a 8-7-1 record with the Pirates and a 2-5-0 record with the Lynx.
Entering his fourth professional season, the former Tampa Bay Lightning draft pick in 2003 has played in the AHL with Portland and Springfield and the ECHL in Augusta and Johnstown. Coleman has appeared in two NHL contests playing in 43 minutes for the Tampa Bay Lighting recording a 0-0-1 record with a 2.77gaa and a .882 save percentage in the 2005-06 season.
Worcester begins a four game road trip where they will first head to Texas to play Houston on Saturday, November 22nd at 8:30p.m. and San Antonio on Sunday, November 23rd at 6:00p.m. The Sharks will then head back north to play two more road games, at Portland on Wednesday, November 26th and at Providence on Friday, November 28th before returning home to the DCU Center on Saturday, November 29th to host Bridgeport at 7:05p.m.
