Sharks stop by McDonald’s to celebrate World Children’s Day

WORCESTER—In support of World Children’s Day, defenseman Jason Demers and center Andrew Desjardins made appearances at McDonald’s restaurants on Tuesday. World Children’s Day is a worldwide program that raises awareness and funds for Ronald McDonald House Charities® (RMHC) and other children’s causes. The two first-year Sharks stopped by McDonald’s at 813 Southbridge Street in Auburn, and then traveled over to 465 Shrewsbury Street in Worcester.

In Massachusetts and throughout the U.S., participating McDonald’s restaurants will donate $1 from the sale of select menu items to RMHC on November 20th.  In addition, up until November 20th, customers can help support RMHC through the “Give a Hand®” in-restaurant program. Colorful, paper hands containing an educational message about the Charity are each sold for $1, with proceeds going to support RMHC and Ronald McDonald House Charities of Eastern New England.  Hands will be displayed at participating restaurants throughout November, reminding residents in the Massachusetts community to lend a hand to support those in need.

At every Worcester Sharks home game this season at the DCU Center, if the Sharks score four or more goals in the game, everyone in attendance receives a coupon for a free small french fry from McDonald’s.
