Sharks Have A (Base) “Ball” With Tornadoes!
WORCESTER, MA – On Friday, the Worcester Sharks took a break from the offseason grind to head to the Worcester Tornadoes’ baseball game in anticipation of an All-Star 2008-09 season that is rapidly approaching.
FINZ along with Sharks’ front office staff set up a display to prepare fans for what will surely be an outstanding third season highlighted by the AHL All-Star Classic at the DCU Center on Jan. 25-26. Tickets and prizes were raffled off and information on the All-Star Classic Presented by Charter Communications was available. And of course, FINZ made friends with everyone, including the Tornadoes’ mascot Twister!
The night was one to remember because along with the Sharks’ appearance came other sensational events on Back to School Night. It included free Tornadoes sling backpacks to the first 1,000 children and two skydivers landing on the field prior to first pitch. Then following the game came a sensational fireworks display!
Unfortunately, the Tornadoes lost the game in a home run filled affair. Each team went deep three times, but the Ottawa Rapidz came away with a 6-4 win in front of a season-high crowd of 3,183 fans.
Hockey season is almost here with opening night less than two months away! After two road games (at Lowell on Oct. 11 and at Albany on the 17th), the Sharks heads home for a tilt vs. rival Providence Bruins. For tickets to opening night, the All-Star Classic, or any of the other 39 home games, please call (508) 929-0500 or crash the net at sharksahl.com!
