Meet Frazer McLaren:

Number: 24

Position: Forward

Date of Birth (Age): October 29, 1987 (20)

Hometown: Winnipeg , MAN

Drafted: San Jose Sharks 7th Round (203rd overall) in 2007 Draft

Season Highlight: Had first-career fight on Apr. 5 at Manchester , going toe-to-toe with Monarchs tough-guy Kevin Westgarth and fairing extremely admirably.

Did you know?: McLaren and teammate Craig Valette both played junior hockey for the Portland Winter Hawks. They never played on the same team, though, as Valette’s final season was in 2002-03, while McLaren’s first was in 2003-04.

2007-08 in a Nutshell: Sharks fans will come to love McLaren’s hard-nosed style of play as the youngster will continue to improve in his first full professional season. Perhaps the most telling sign of the type of teammate he is happened on Apr. 9 vs. Providence . Late in the third period, he stood up to Bruins’ tough-guy Steve MacIntyre, defending his team after a number of scuffles broke out.
